Conflicts disclosure

ownership and interest

Ben Sobczak is the owner and Managing Member of TrustNav LLC, and designed and implemented the TrustNav record. He therefore has a direct financial interest in the record’s commercial engagements. The declaration he makes is disclosed as an owner-operator’s declaration, not an independent expert opinion.

the commercial rule

A binding commercial rule: TrustNav accepts no compensation from a health carrier or carrier-controlled affiliate, and none paid, directed, reimbursed, guaranteed, or specifically funded by one, either for public-record review, ranking, comparison, or posture products concerning carriers, or to help a carrier remediate what TrustNav may later review — a carrier may submit evidence, corrections, replacement files, and technical clarification without charge, and a non-carrier client's ordinary commercial relationships with carriers do not, by themselves, make that client's payment indirect carrier compensation. Engagements are fixed-fee with scope and deliverables agreed in advance, and the public record does not change with any engagement.
